LLP Audit कब जरूरी है? LLP-law Audit और Income-tax Audit का अंतर

One audit threshold or exemption does not automatically settle the other regime.

Read for preparation. Confirm the current official requirements for your facts and reporting period before filing or paying.

An LLP must assess audit requirements under its governing rules and separately under income-tax law. These tests can use different conditions and reporting purposes. The applicable year, receipts/turnover, contribution and other facts need review before concluding that no audit is required. [1] [2]

Prepare facts for both tests

Reconcile turnover/receipts, contribution and the nature of business or profession. Check the current LLP rules and the relevant income-tax period’s audit provisions, including any interaction with a chosen tax-computation method. Keep the conclusions separate and record the reasons.

Agree deliverables and timetable

Where an audit is required, identify the report, professional eligibility, signing and filing responsibilities. Coordinate closing the books, confirmations and supporting schedules early. One professional engagement may cover multiple tasks only if the scope expressly says so; a filing service alone is not an audit.

Practical preparation checklist

  • Relevant reporting year and reconciled financial facts.
  • LLP-rule audit applicability working.
  • Independent income-tax audit applicability working.
  • Required reports, responsibilities and document timetable.

Illustrative example

An LLP is told that it is below one threshold and therefore needs no audit of any kind. That conclusion should be tested against the other framework rather than accepted as a universal exemption.

Avoid this mistake

Do not mix an LLP’s contribution with company authorised capital or use a past-year threshold without checking amendments. An audit-applicability conclusion should be made before the filing deadline, not after accounts have been submitted without the required report.
